Churubusco Location Manager

Summary: Manages grain, agronomy, and feed production, distribution, and marketing operations for the Churubusco location in a manner that will optimize Ag Plus’ market share and savings, improve Ag Plus’ efficiency, help achieve Ag Plus’ mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 Supports Ag Plus’ stated Vision, Mission, and Business Values.
 Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
 Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.
 Read and follow company employee policies.
 Responsible for cost controls and budgeting of the Churubusco location.
 Promotes, and supports Ag Plus’ grain and agronomy programs.
 Assists in the development of annual farmer/customer programs that include soil testing, field mapping, product recommendations, timely and accurate application, field scouting as needed, record keeping, and follow-up calls.
 Maintains facility and equipment so that they have a good appearance and are always in working order.
 Complete written activity support documents as required.
 Monitor grain inventory quality/condition and complete weekly inventory reports.
 Maintain all records required by OSHA or Ag Plus’ safety procedures.
 Provides customers a cash grain bid and explain basic grain contracts.
 Promotes Ag Plus’ products and services to customers.
 Explain company policies and site operations to customers as needed.
 Recommend repairs and improvements to the CEO.
 Oversees plant personnel training so that tasks are performed properly and safely.
 Controls inventories for proper seasonal levels.
 Maintains periodic customer contact as needed, as well as a continual prospect list that is contacted appropriately.
 Adheres to the credit guidelines of Ag Plus.
 Helps plan, develop and implement Ag Plus policies and goals.
 Oversees compliance at the Churubusco location regarding governmental regulations, and safety.
 Develops an atmosphere of teamwork among peer Management Staff.


Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises assigned employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; create a non-hostile work environment; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or 15 years or more related experience and/or education; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak
effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,
proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


Reasoning Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written,
oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software;
Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Commercial Drivers License with Hazardous Material Endorsement
Commercial Pesticide Applicator License 1A
CCA certificate
USDA grain weighing and grading license.
Pest Control Applicators License of grade 7-E would be beneficial.


 

 

Ag Plus Open Positions

 


Agronomy Sales -

The Agronomy Sales Specialist will work with farmers to promote Ag Plus programs related to marketing of product and services, and application in a way that will optimize market Ag Plus’ market share, improve efficiency, and achieve company mission statement and goals.

The Agronomy Sales Specialist is responsible for proper recommendations and placement of chemicals and fertilizers, and the operations of their assigned computers and equipment Seed sales will also be an integral part of the position. The Agronomy Sales Specialist will need
to work with customers to develop a seed program that will promote growth in Ag Plus’ seed business.

The Agronomy Sales Specialist is also responsible for maintaining and building customer relationships within their assigned territory that grows the agronomy sales volumes of Ag Plus. The position will include field scouting, working with management to coordinate spread, spray and lime scheduling at the location.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Compile lists of current and prospective customers for use as sales leads.
- Must know, understand and comply with all safety and government regulations.
-Basic knowledge of all chemicals and their abilities of control.
- Responsible for fertilizer and chemical sales during the season including making accurate price and
quantity quotes with correct terms.
- Responsible for travels throughout the territory for the establishment and maintenance of customer
relationships within an assigned territory.
- Available to assist other departments in their peak seasons.
- Responsible to do recommendations and computer work for fertilizer/chemical and seed.
- Make regular sales calls on customer promoting the products that the company sells.
- Work with management team to grow the business including seed.
- Acquire the proper licenses to perform the jobs necessary at the location.
- Perform other duties that may be directed by the supervisor.

Education and/or Experience
Associates (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one
year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions,
and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak
effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


Mathematical Skills

Liquid Propane Driver

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 

  • Be responsible for timely delivery of propane to the customer site.
  • Assist in customer tank setting, leak checking, replacing regulators, and maintenance.
  • Maintain the truck in good working order.
  • Drive in a safe manner.
  • Carries out Ag Plus' compliance with "Duty to Warn" obligations with existing or new customers.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Grain Transport Driver - PT Multiple Locations

Requires Class A CDL

Transport grain to/from grain facilities as instructed by Grain Merchandiser

Energy Transport Driver- PT New Haven
 Deliver fuel to Ag Plus refined fuels bulk plant location. Applicants must have CDL with HAZMAT endorsement.
 
This position is for our New Haven branch.
The position will be second shift hours. 
 
 

Custom Applicator - Woodburn, Maples & Raber Locations

Performs custom application for the Woodburn branch by performing the following duties personally or with the support of other plant personnel.

  • Supports Ag Plus’ stated Vision, Mission, and Business Values.
  • Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
  • Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.

  • Implements, promotes, and supports the agronomy program.
  • Precisely blends and custom applies fertilizers and agricultural chemicals based on recommendations and label directions.
  • Performs his jobs safely and in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Maintains facility and equipment so that they have a good appearance and are always in working order.
  • Performs mechanic work on selected vehicles.
  • Completes applicator logs and reports.
  • Keeps the Branch Manager informed of product inventory levels that could restrict application or delivery schedules.
  • Keeps the Branch Manager informed of operational, customer, vendors, or employee issues that may arise.
  • Keeps facility, equipment, and application records as required.
  • Loads and unloads inbound and outbound inventory.
  • Assists in keeping all inside and outside work areas extremely neat and orderly.
  • Performs additional tasks that may be required.

Requires Class A CDL

Feed Millman

     Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the feed mill operator by preparing “hands adds” which are mixed in manufactured feeds on a daily basis.
  • Help in manufacturing and seeking feeds for floor stock.
  • Assist with maintenance of feed mill and related feed mill equipment.

Synergy Feeds LLC is looking for a Feed Truck Driver South Whitley, Indiana Feed Mill

 

• Seeking an experienced Class A CDL driver or someone willing to train to acquire their Class A CDL. Synergy Feeds, LLC will cover the cost of the formal training program required to obtain your Class A license.

 

We operate clean, late model semis hauling bulk feed to modern commercial livestock operations.

 

We offer flexible schedules with start times from early morning until late evening, depending on your preference.
